Draft for review. This document was prepared as part of the CravePlatter site build and has not been reviewed by counsel. Confirm the entity details, retention periods, insurance limits and governing-law clauses with your lawyer, and the food-safety claims with your local health department, before launch.

We want craveplatter.com to work for everyone who wants to order food from us. This page states what we have built, what we have measured, what is still weak, and how to reach a human if the site gets in your way.

1. The standard we hold ourselves to

We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We consider the site substantially conformant with the exceptions listed in section 4. We are stating conformance based on our own testing rather than a third-party audit, and we say so plainly rather than implying an accreditation we do not have.

2. What we have built in

• Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard alone, in a logical order, with a visible focus ring that meets the 3:1 contrast requirement against both the light and dark grounds.
• A skip link is the first focusable item on every page.
• 268 of the 269 text elements on the landing page meet WCAG AA contrast — 4.5:1 for body copy, 3:1 for large text — measured in-browser with alpha compositing, and tested against both ends of every gradient rather than against a flat average. The single exception is the oversized wordmark across the foot of the page, which sits at roughly 1.2:1 by design; it is aria-hidden, the brand name appears as real text elsewhere in the same footer, and it is therefore exempt as pure decoration under WCAG 1.4.3.
• The platter builder is a set of native radio groups and a native number input with a labelled range control, so it announces its own state and works with no custom ARIA at all.
• The FAQ uses native <details> elements, which announce expanded and collapsed state on their own.
• The navigation toggle carries aria-expanded and aria-controls, and Escape closes the drawer.
• All photography carries descriptive alternative text. Decorative art is marked aria-hidden and given an empty alt attribute rather than omitted.
• The page reflows to 320px with no horizontal scrolling and no loss of content, and to 400% zoom.
• Every animation is disabled under prefers-reduced-motion, including the marquee.
• The site works with JavaScript disabled. Scroll-reveal styles are gated behind a class set by an inline probe, so a failed script leaves the page fully visible rather than blank.

3. How we tested

Keyboard-only traversal of every page; VoiceOver on macOS and Safari; NVDA on Windows and Firefox; automated checks with axe-core; contrast measured programmatically across every text node on all eleven pages; and manual reflow testing at 320, 390, 768, 1024 and 1440 pixels.

4. Known gaps

• The scrolling photo marquee in the proof section is decorative and is hidden from assistive technology. Its content is available as text elsewhere on the page, but a sighted low-vision user who wants to pause it currently cannot; a pause control is planned.
• Long allergen tables in Allergens & Food Safety scroll horizontally on narrow screens. The scroll container is keyboard-focusable, but a stacked layout would be better and is planned.
• We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit. We intend to commission one.
